The Humane Society of Polk was founded as a 501(c)3 in January 1982 by a passionate group of people with a desire to help animals in their community, our community. In April of 2022, we assumed the name of Scruffy Tails Humane Society in recognition of the strides we have taken to grow and develop as a friendly, inviting organization for our community members and the animals in our care.

As a board member of Scruffy Tails Humane Society, you would be assisting with these changes and strides to become nothing but the best that we can be! We are what is called a “working board,” which means that each member of the board plays an important part in the day-to-day and assists the staff with specific tasks.

We meet once a month. Will be posted prior to meeting.
